With reference to our letter of the 4th
March 1930, I have the honour to transmit for the
information of the Secretary of State, a valuation
of the security held by us es cover for the note
issue of the Mercantile Bank of India, Ltd. in
Hong Kong, together with a copy of a letter from
the bank stating the face value of the notes in
circulation on the 1st January 1931.
It will be observed that the valuation
shows an excess of £58,572. Os. 10a over the
amount of security required.
